The Darwin to China Lake backroad

Post by birkoff » Sat Nov 16, 2019 1:48 pm

I was searching around Google maps and found a nicely paved road which connects south Darwin to China Lake. There are a number of structures and projects which look 'different' along the road. Alien installs?

Does anybody have experience with this road? I suspect its not too accessible because of the China Lake Naval station on the south.

All on NWC land. Twice I’ve driven from China Lake into Etcherren Valley, then over to Wildhorse Mesa to tour the petroglyphs on small, private tours. Back in the days before 9/11. There are historic, pre-military places back there. Along the road I took was a standing stage station. Small mining camps and ghost towns are scattered about the base.
