Nicer weather. Scenic area, never been up in there. What's the peak you took a bunch of pix of? Must have been in the direction you were heading and you were wondering about the snow!

Yes, a great weather day. The peak was actually behind me as I was ascending the Pleasant/Middle Park divide. So, I am looking at Sentinel peeking over the Pleasant/Happy divide.

I went much farther than I care to admit before realizing my mistake and turning back.
Half the fun of making a mistake is not realizing it, and even when realizing it, not admitting it to yourself.

Down to Butte Valley and around the west side of Striped Butte and on to Geologist's cabin. This has a lot of Striped Butte shots.

Here is a lower res version of one of the better ones:

So I gather you liked the views of Striped Butte :)
Nice from those angles I must say.

:) There are a few things in the park that I given extra attention photographically--especially in wanting to see them from as many perspectives as possible--Telescope Peak, the Panamint City smelter stack, 1 particular rock at the Racetrack, to name a few. Striped Butte ended up in that category because I was effectively making a circuit around it and it made sense to get shots of it from all around.

Around the east side of Striped Butte and back up to the crest:

I also made an album (of the same pictures in the other albums) illustrating the circuit around Striped Butte.

South end of the crest, which I define as 2003-T on the topos, to Rogers Pass.

There are great views along the way, including some uncommon ways of seeing the southern Panamint peaks

Rogers Pass to Mormon Peak. Was nice to be able to look back to where the day began at Geologist's cabin, though the cabin itself doesn't really show up in the pics. A 5500 ft vertical gain day.
