Thank you! One of the first things I did with those Fall Canyon photos was dropping the highlights and increasing the shadows in Lightroom. I think that helps a lot with dynamic range.
Your Palmer Canyon photo is quite nice!

If you have a digital camera that produces RAW files, then Lightroom can work wonders on the dynamic range. It astonished me to see how much the camera captured in the highlights and shadows that could be brought out by moving a few sliders. Ansel Adams had to do a ton of darkroom work to accomplish the same thing.
