Thats ok getting off the original topic ,this is fun stuff.The Western States AAA Map I have says that Boundary Pk. is the highest Point in Nevada 13,140 ft.

I've never been up at Mahogany Flat in June but have been in May when the temp in Furnace CK was 115 and it was a cool 80 degrees (as Charlie said )at Mahogany Flat campground 8000 ft.Steve,I think it will be good.

We have not seen any springs or tried to find any going up Telescope. The same goes for Wildrose. What I have done is cache some Water part way up the climb if I can't carry all we need.As far as having enough for the 3 days, wont you have your vehicle with you? Wildrose Cyn. Rd.

We were up there over Memorial Day and the Road was in decent shape.In my opinion,it is a high clearance vehicle road (due to the rocks and ruts)having Light duty truck type tires is also helpful.The road gets a little steep at the end so a truck SUV should have low enough gears.Going down is where ...

Those are great pictures! I haven't seen kilns anywhere else except in Death Valley. Definitely going to pay this area a visit.I'll have 30 yrs with at&t in Oct. so maybe I'll pull the plug :idea:

I think I goofed up :???: What I meant to write was that I checked a few web sites and they describe plants and animals living in Saratoga Springs that are commonly found in Salt marshes.Hope that Clarifys.-Dave

I checked a few web sites and they describe plants and animals commonly found in salt marshes. I've been out there but did not sample the H20.you may want to call Furnace Creek and speak to a Ranger(760 786 2331).Depending on the length and route of your hike you may be able to cache some water here...

Great Basin NP

We like to Hike, backpack, 4wd explore,mtn bike.The caves sound great. We bring our dog so I know the rules in the Park but if there are areas to explore just outside the park that would work as well.-Dave

Great Basin NP

Anybody familiar with Great Basin NP? Would like to take a trip out there and am looking for some Ideas on what to see if you have 2 or 3 days. -Dave
