Re: Blood thinners

I started taking Eliquis for a-fib a month ago. I have not noticed any issues with bleeding or bruising at this point. Of all the anti-coagulants, Eliquis is said to be the best. It is also the most expensive. If you don't have good insurance, it runs $530 a month. My Medicare Part D has a $400 dedu...

I looked on realtor.com to see what these units might sell for. No luck. Anybody know?

Re: Any Auto Mechanics in the DV area?

Here is Miller's contact information. I don't know if they are hiring. A Google search shows that there are a number of auto repair facilities in both Bishop and Mammoth Lakes. Check them out. There is not much in Beatty, Nevada. Good luck! https://richardk.smugmug.com/Nature/Miscellaneous/i-CPvd8ZV...

No way would I attend any in person, close quarters meeting. Then, there is the matter that one of the sponsors, Rio Tinto, is a scumbag mining outfit. Look up their record.

Thank you for these pictures. We need something to sustain us until we can get back to Death Valley from the east coast.

Steve Hall documents the hike to the plane. It's not easy.

Re: NPS needs help solving backcountry vandalism

Grand Forks is a rather small town, population 4049, about 300 miles east of Vancouver. How hard could it be to ID this idiot? The off-roading community there must know who this is. Extradition from Canada for something that might well be settled as a misdemeanor is another matter. Two of the three ...

MojaveGeek - My picture is from March, 2015. It is astonishing how much changed in 3 years. A lot of gravel came down.

We have hiked the Golden Canyon/Gower Gulch loop twice. I do not remember a scrambling section like this one at all. Did these guys miss a turn?

Before entering the end of Room Canyon, this feature must be crawled under. It's what MojaveGeek is asking about.

Re: Late Feb/early March 2020 visit

The pick axes were a tongue-in-cheek suggestion. ;-) The park did a 180 on this canyon. At first, it was a secret. Then, I saw ranger guided hikes listed on the park web site. I imagine that the boulders put an end to that. This notice is from November, 2014. https://photos.smugmug.com/Nature/Miscel...

Re: Late Feb/early March 2020 visit

bluegreen kayak - Digital cameras capture an astonishing amount of detail in the shadows. A small amount of work in Photoshop will bring it out. Those boulders are a crumbly conglomerate. I wonder if a couple of guys with pick axes could chop a path through? https://photos.smugmug.com/Nature/Miscell...
